News & Events
Adult Education / RCIA
We are THE Bible Church! While, certainly, most of us Catholics could stand to bone up on our knowledge
of Sacred Scripture, so much of what we already do in our prayer is intensely Biblical. Our Adult Educaton series this year will focus on all the Biblical things we do as Catholics that maybe we don’t even realize are from the Scriptures. Join Fr. Carlson for live taught lessons and discussions on the Mass and the Sacraments in Sacred Scripture.
We will typically meet on Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the Church beginning October 12th (No registration
required). All handouts or materials will be provided and videos will be made available for those who miss a
live class. We’ll schedule plenty of breaks for the holidays and we will conclude the class by Easter. This is a
great way for interested non Catholics to prepare to join the Church this Easter!
We are happy to welcome our CCD students back to in-person learning. This year our program is being taught by
our full-time Holy Family School Teachers in their
classrooms. They are licensed for the classroom, trained
in the Catholic School curriculum, and well familiar with
all the necessary Coronavirus safeguards. If your family is
running behind registering, please fill out the form from
the bottom of the website and bring it to the parish office
to get started.
All Souls Memorial Candle
As has become a tradition at Holy Family, we will once again set up side altars with purple vigil candles during the month of November as a reminder for us to pray for the Faithful Departed. Each candle will bear the name of your loved ones, and will burn throughout the entire 30 days of November. We also encourage photos of your family members so we can place their image on the candle as well. You can send us the photo by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or we will make a scan of your photo in the office. Extra request forms are available in all bulletin racks. The suggested donation per candle is $30.
Friday Mass Time
With the start of a new school year, our Friday weekday Mass will be moving from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Our first date at the new Mass time will be August 27th. Parishioners are welcome to attend, but we do ask that you sit in the back portion of the church so the children can distance themselves.
All Saints / All Souls Day
November 1st and 2nd are very important days for us as Catholics. On the First we recognize the Communion of Saints that we profess in the Creed the “vast cloud of witnesses” (Heb. 12) that dwells now in perfection before the Lord. On the Second we, in turn, pray for those who have died. We pray that they may soon enter the perfection, and join the Angels and Saints before the Lord in Heaven. Special Mass Times:
All Saints Masses
Oct 31st 5:30pm
Nov 1st 7:30am
Nov 1st 9:15am (HFS)
All Souls Masses
Nov 2nd 7:30am
Nov 2nd 5:30pm
Altar and Rosary Society
The October meeting for the Altar & Rosary Society was moved to Thursday, October 14th @ 6:30 p.m. to accommodate those that would like to attend the Blue Mass. The Altar & Rosary Society is always ready to welcome new members! Our group of ladies holds a couple of fundraisers each year to support various needs of the church including candles, Baptismal supplies, communion hosts and altar wine, and altar linens. At our monthly meetings, we offer the rosary for those of our parish that has recently passed away, discuss different projects, and simply enjoy a time of fellowship.
We are asking parishioners when purchasing items for the food pantry to avoid canned goods as much as possible. The best donations are items that are ready-to-eat and do not require preparation in a kitchen. Examples of great items to donate are boxed cereals, jello cups, granola bars, and cheese & crackers. Also, we are happy to accept any toiletry items you would like to donate. Soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste are also always in demand.
Volunteers always Welcome!
Have you considered donating your time and talent to the parish? We could always use a few extra lectors to read at Mass, extraordinary ministers to distribute Holy Communion, and ushers to take up the collection at the offertory. If you can help out, please call Jennifer at the parish office to volunteer. We will work around your Mass time preference.
