Totus Tuus!

It’s almost time for this year’s awesome opportunity to attend the area’s Totus Tuus program. The weeklong program will be held in LaSalle at Trinity Catholic Academy (650 4th Street) from July 25th30th. Led by professionally trained college age adults and a seminarian from our diocese, the mission of Totus Tuus is ready to inspire our young people a true longing for holiness and an openness to their true vocation called to by Christ. Grades 1 6 meet Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m.* * Those attending during the daytime should bring a sack lunch daily. Grades 7 12 meet Sunday thru Thursday 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Cost is $30 per student for the day program and $15 per student for the evening program. Family maximum fee is $50.  Confirmation students from Holy Family who attend will receive service hour credit, the experience can be used for one of your projects. For more information, visit lasallecatholic.org or call Sue Calderon at (815) 2230641, ext. 113. Same-day registration is just fine. Students do not need to attend every session.

Holy Hour for Vocations in Peru

Fr. Blake would like to invite everyone to the Holy Hour for Vocations held at St. Valentine’s Parish (1109 Pulaski St., Peru) on Monday, July 12th at 6:30 p.m. Join us in praying for an increase in priestly and religious vocations!  There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, a brief homily, time for confessions, and we will end with Benediction.

In Gratitude

Many thanks to the families who stepped up and offered to fund a couple of projects at the church. We now have beautiful new blue outdoor carpet and the inside carpet areas have been professionally cleaned!

Mass Intentions

It is almost time to open up the Mass Intention book for the 2022 Calendar Year. We will be putting out new request forms shortly. Please watch the bulletin for more details.

Mass Readings

Since we ran out of the current missalette, we are printing copies of the weekend readings. You may find them on the table in the main entrance.

We have moved back to the confessionals in church for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Currently, we are only offering time for confessions on Saturday afternoon from 3:153:45 p.m., however, we are looking to add additional times. If you have suggestions of dates/times, please contact Jennifer by email or telephone at the parish office.

Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat

Has an abortion experience left you feeling empty and alone? Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat is available in our diocese for any man or woman who has struggled with the emotional and spiritual pain of abortion. This healing weekend is for singles or married couples, mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, or anyone suffering the effects of an abortion loss. The retreat is a chance to get away from the daily pressures of work and family, to focus on a painful time in life, and to begin healing through a supportive and nonjudgmental process. If you are searching for peace and inner healing from an abortion, this retreat is for you! You can also find additional information by visiting: www.cdop/rachels vineyard.  All communications are strictly confidential.

In Prayer

Over the weekend, Pope Francis underwent a planned intestinal surgery to remove part of his colon. We ask you keep him in your daily prayers as he recovers.

Food Pantry

We are asking parishioners when purchasing items for the food pantry to avoid canned goods as much as possible. The best donations are items that are ready-to-eat and do not require preparation in a kitchen. Examples of great items to donate are boxed cereals, jello cups, granola bars, and cheese & crackers. Also, we are happy to accept any toiletry items you would like to donate. Soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste are also always in demand.

Volunteers always Welcome!

Have you considered donating your time and talent to the parish? We could always use a few extra lectors to read at Mass, extraordinary ministers to distribute Holy Communion, and ushers to take up the collection at the offertory. If you can help out, please call Jennifer at the parish office to volunteer. We will work around your Mass time preference.
