News & Events

Mass Intentions

Our Intention Book is open for scheduling Masses in 2022. You may use the Mass Offering Envelope from your packets or submit your request by letter, email, or phone.  Please keep in mind: Because there are only 52 weekends in the year, you may only request three weekend dates.  Any recent deaths or intentions for someone who is currently ill will be given priority.  We are still in somewhat of a transition period at the church and school. The parish council may adjust Mass times during the course of the year. $10 Mass stipend per Mass is typically included with your request.

In Gratitude

Many thanks to the families who stepped up and offered to fund a couple of projects at the church. We now have beautiful new blue outdoor carpet and the inside carpet areas have been professionally cleaned!

Mass Intentions

It is almost time to open up the Mass Intention book for the 2022 Calendar Year. We will be putting out new request forms shortly. Please watch the bulletin for more details.

Friday Mass Time

With the start of a new school year, our Friday weekday Mass will be moving from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Our first date at the new Mass time will be August 27th. Parishioners are welcome to attend, but we do ask that you sit in the back portion of the church so the children can distance themselves.

Window Plaques Update
For those who have approved wording for the plaques in our most recent order (sent June 10th), please be aware
that there is a delay with the casting company.  The current estimate for delivery is the 2nd week of August. Upon receiving them, we will do our best to install them as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience.
**For those that have finished paying their window sponsorship, but have not contacted the parish about the wording for their plaque, please contact the parish office at (815) 883-8233.

We are getting ready for Fall classes.  Previously enrolled families should receive a registration in the mail.  If you didn't get one or need another, see the forms at the bottom of the website.

We have moved back to the confessionals in church for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Currently, we are only offering time for confessions on Saturday afternoon from 3:153:45 p.m., however, we are looking to add additional times. If you have suggestions of dates/times, please contact Jennifer by email or telephone at the parish office.

Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat

Has an abortion experience left you feeling empty and alone? Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat is available in our diocese for any man or woman who has struggled with the emotional and spiritual pain of abortion. This healing weekend is for singles or married couples, mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, or anyone suffering the effects of an abortion loss. The retreat is a chance to get away from the daily pressures of work and family, to focus on a painful time in life, and to begin healing through a supportive and nonjudgmental process. If you are searching for peace and inner healing from an abortion, this retreat is for you! You can also find additional information by visiting: www.cdop/rachels vineyard.  All communications are strictly confidential.

Food Pantry

We are asking parishioners when purchasing items for the food pantry to avoid canned goods as much as possible. The best donations are items that are ready-to-eat and do not require preparation in a kitchen. Examples of great items to donate are boxed cereals, jello cups, granola bars, and cheese & crackers. Also, we are happy to accept any toiletry items you would like to donate. Soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste are also always in demand.

Volunteers always Welcome!

Have you considered donating your time and talent to the parish? We could always use a few extra lectors to read at Mass, extraordinary ministers to distribute Holy Communion, and ushers to take up the collection at the offertory. If you can help out, please call Jennifer at the parish office to volunteer. We will work around your Mass time preference.

Altar and Rosary

Consider getting involved in our parish women’s organization! The first meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 2nd at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the KC Hall in Oglesby.
